Medical Eye Center is looking to add a Dispensing Optician to the team who’s ready to dive in and make an immediate impact in our organization.   

Dispensing Opticians work with a diverse team of optical staff, clinical staff, and eye care providers, to ensure that patients’ corrective eyewear needs are met and expectations are exceeded. A person in this role thrives on delighting patients by helping them select eyewear that will enhance their lifestyle by providing optimal vision and styling that will boost their confidence.  

The ideal candidate has experience in a retail or optical environment and boasts a successful record of producing exceptional sales results without compromising integrity. You collaborate well with others, you have excellent communication skills, you are driven to deliver remarkable customer service, and you are constantly looking to further develop your skills.  

Competitive wages and benefits are included.  
Pay range: $16-$20/hr with additional sales incentive. 

Accepting both full-time and part-time applicants. Experience is preferred but not required.  We are willing to train exceptional candidates.

Our Patient Counselors are the experience guides of MEC, helping patients navigate through every step of the process from consultation to post-operative care with compassion, enthusiasm, and patience. Patient Counselors are steeped in MEC’s foundational tenets of integrity, commitment, awareness, relationships, and empathy. These friendly and knowledgeable liaisons help educate patients on various surgical options, working to understand each patient’s unique goals and reservations, and helping to overcome any barriers holding them back from a better quality of life. 

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, has outstanding communication skills, with prior experience in sales, and is passionate about delivering incredible customer service. A person in this role will work directly in patient care. They will interview patients about their goals and concerns, provide education about various procedures (LASIK, Premium Cataract Surgery, Collagen Crosslinking, LipiFlow, etc), assist with financial arrangements, and schedule procedures and pre/post-operative care. Patient Counselors also act as a communication point person for individuals considering a procedure or who have recently had one and have questions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Answer phone inquiries in an efficient and effective manner. 
  • Utilize phone scripts. 
  • Conduct patient consultations via Zoom or in-office with emphasis on converting patients to surgery. 
  • Make confirmation and reminder calls. 
  • Follow-up calls from patient consultations and seminar leads. 
  • Assist and attend elective surgery seminars and events. 
  • Track personal conversion rates monthly. 
  • Interact with patients/family day of the procedure. 

Interact with referring and co-managing doctor’s offices. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Well organized and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time quickly and accurately. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to work closely and effectively with doctors, clinic staff and understanding patient needs. 
  • Ability to remain personable and empathetic with the patient’s needs and concerns. 
  • Ability to work independently “and” as a valued member of the team. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients. Listen attentively. 
  • Ability to follow established protocols. 
  • Demonstrates flexibility in job assignments. 
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively explain laser vision correction, help patients to realize their lifestyle goals, and guide them through a decision-making process. 
  • Work processing and Computer skills. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Our team of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses play an integral role in helping our patients see the world differently.
Working alongside our surgeons and collaborating with our care team, our RNs / LPNs ensure that each patient feels seen, heard, and genuinely cared for throughout their surgical journey. They keep our operations running smoothly and care for our patients with medical expertise and compassionate, human connection.

The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to details, has outstanding communication skills, and above all, is compassionate. This person will work directly with patients in pre and post-operative settings as well as intra-operative care and circulating in the operating room. He/she will interview patients, collect and review medical and health information, monitor vital signs, carry out treatment plans, assist with patient positioning, provide support to surgical team, ensure asepsis of field and technique, and coordinate communication and care elements with other team members and patient family members.

Our special testing technicians are the information collectors who support our mission to deliver exceptional eye care.  These individuals guide patients during testing, help to ease the anxiety that many patients experience, while simultaneously paying close attention to the details of the test they are completing for our doctors. 

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, communicates well, and has great attention to detail. A person in this role will work directly in patient care-assisting patients with positioning, collecting medical information, preparing, sanitizing and calibrating equipment, and completing accurate measurements and special testing.

The starting wage for special testing technicians is $15.00/hour.
